English classes for preschool children

We invite you to English courses prepared especially for your little one. Preschool children have special needs, which we meet in classes at the Home of Bears language school.

I am enrolling my child

With enthusiasm into the world of English

English classes for preschoolers are 30-minute meetings, held twice a week. Classes are conducted according to the energy: Teaching in empathy and Dynamic English - these are two methods accredited by Home of Bears. Thanks to a unique approach to education, acceptance, gratitude, kindness and authenticity, we are able to create a relationship with the children learning with us, which is the basis for acquiring further skills and abilities. We draw from children's enthusiasm - stimulating it and nurturing it so that it grows. Enthusiasm is a catalyst for acquiring knowledge in an unconscious way. English classes are conducted in 90% in English, 10% of Polish is a time for translating the phrases we learn - so that the children can use them independently, in situations identical to them - and consequently, they know what they are saying and are conscious users of English.

Are Pandas English classes for your child? Let's find out!

The first three years of a child's life are incredibly valuable from the perspective of development, and consequently the possibilities of children. The latest research shows that contact between a parent and a child activates specific areas of the brain, and consequently increases the number of neural connections created. Using this knowledge and placing it at the foundation of organizing classes for preschool children, we at Home of Bears want to build a safe space for learning a foreign language.
We focus on relationships because they are the foundation of our educational process – at every level. Working with young children (aged 3 to 6), we take advantage of being present here and now, we draw on children's enthusiasm, we give children attention and comfort, we teach them to be aware of their own emotions – especially those that show that a need is not being met – and what can be done then.
We show what acceptance and kindness are - thanks to which children do not stand in starting blocks with each other, but go together, being attentive to themselves and others. Every child is different - in Home of Bears this is not a phrase - but a fact. Therefore, each child acquires knowledge at their own pace and rhythm. Without rushing, without rushing, without comparing and epithets and without external control.
By correlating these elements, we can achieve results that will be lasting and will become the seed of internal motivation. Internal motivation is an attitude that allows a person to strive for self-development, out of pure desire to learn new skills or acquire new competences.

At each level of PANDAS courses, children receive educational materials in the form of a Booklet composed of 3 autonomous parts:

  1. Bears CARDS This is the part that contains the entire vocabulary and grammar list that will be discussed during the annual Pandas course for 3-year-olds. There are cards that can be used as posters, mind maps and those that need to be filled in. They are set according to the discussed program - so that children have the opportunity to repeat the material when they feel like it, and at the same time notice in the book what they are currently doing in class.
  2. Bears STICKERS This is a part that aims to play with the child in understanding sentences and practicing fine motor skills (sticking the appropriate sticker). Each Bears Stickers card is correlated with one whole topic discussed during the yearly course.
  3. Bears STORIES This is a part of the book that involves reading a story and showing children specific elements mentioned in the story. Reading in English can be an element of shared reading – as a daily ritual. As a result, the child's passive vocabulary will be enriched – that is, the vocabulary and sentences that the child understands. Each subsequent reading of the same text will contribute to the enrichment of the active vocabulary – that is, what the child will be able to say independently.

These are our pillars in working with preschoolers

When working with preschool children, we remember what is invisible to the naked eye – that is, the profitable activities that no longer bring results. Often, after classes, children are bombarded with questions such as: How was it? What do you remember? Will you sing a song? – meanwhile, preschool children have attention that focuses in a sinusoidal manner. This means that attention is fluid and quickly disperses. This does not change the fact that children remember content as long as it is valuable to them, if the content is connected with emotions that root it. Home of Bears is a place where we look at the perspective further than one month or one year. We create conditions for safe acquisition of knowledge, based on acceptance and kindness, as well as gratitude. We do not use epithets, comparisons, or any forms of external motivation, because we want to develop such an approach in children, which is called – the “yes” brain. This means that children do not react with stress or petrification in a problematic situation, but are able to look at it from the perspective of opportunity and possibility.

At Home of Bears we work with preschool children, teaching them English along with values and acceptance of their own emotions as part of the Pandas courses.

Pandas classes take place in our cozy spaces in Gliwice and Żory. Choose the location closest to your home and make your first encounters with English full of warmth, joy and safety.

🐼 FAQ – Pandas Courses (3-6 years)

1. From what age can children participate in the Pandas course?

Classes are intended for children from 3 to 6 years old.

2. Can a parent be present at classes?

Yes, we introduce children gradually and parents can accompany the little ones at the beginning.

3. How many children are in the group?

The groups are small – usually 6 to 8 children – to ensure comfort and individual approach.

4. Do children have to speak Polish to participate in classes?

No – classes are conducted with full understanding of the child's stage of development. We use non-verbal communication, gestures, pictures and emotions.

5. Do children need to know English already?

No, the classes are designed for children who are just getting to know the language.

6. What does a typical lesson look like?

Each session is a mix of fun, movement, singing and rituals that help children feel safe. The repetition of elements means that children quickly find their way in the structure of the classes. We use many stimuli: music, colours, smells and props to stimulate the senses and facilitate memorisation.

7. Can a child “take away” something if he or she is not yet speaking?

Yes – and that’s a lot! Even if a child doesn’t speak Polish or English yet, their brain absorbs sounds, rhythms and language structures. This is the so-called silent phase, which is absolutely natural and necessary. The child gains a solid foundation for speaking in the future.

8. How long does one meeting last?

Classes usually last 30 minutes, which corresponds to the concentration capabilities of children of this age. During this time, we intensively engage the child's attention through various activities - but without overstimulation. Thanks to this, children eagerly await the next classes.

9. What materials are used during the course?

We use our own materials adapted to the age and needs of children. These include picture cards, sensory toys, songs, puppets, and props for movement games. Our goal is to create the most engaging and sensory language environment possible.

10. Where are classes held?

We conduct Pandas classes in our friendly and safe spaces in Gliwice and Żory. Both places are adapted to the needs of small children - we provide freedom of movement, soft carpets, colors and elements conducive to exploration.
